Our story
Paywhere was conceived and built by a founding team with decades of collective experience at the intersection of financial markets, technology, communications, and regulatory complexity.
The team has deep expertise in high-performance distributed systems, capital markets infrastructure, fintech product leadership, and tech-focused marketing and communications. They have built platforms that process tens of billions in monthly volume, scaled API-driven payment products across global markets, and helped technology companies find their voice in competitive industries.
Paywhere saw programmable banking coming before it had a name.
In 2025, Paywhere identified something the market had not yet named.
AI agents and software programs were beginning to rapidly automate the financial workflows that corporate clients had always managed manually. This was going to be a sea change for banks and credit unions. The interface between them and their clients was being totally rewritten.
Paywhere recognized that financial institutions needed a platform that worked alongside existing systems, handled both fiat and stablecoin rails, and kept the bank in full control of its customer relationships and economics.
Nothing in the market did that. So they built it. And they gave it a name.
Programmable banking.
Founded on decades of operating at the intersection of:
Financial markets

Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Girish is a technologist, inventor, and entrepreneur with years of experience in distributed systems, high-performance data infrastructure, and enterprise-scale transactional platforms. He has modernized Fortune 500 systems, pioneered real-time, data-driven software architecture, and built several successful startups. At Paywhere, Girish owns our vision, helping banks and credit unions thrive in the era of AI. As he puts it, his job isn't to prove that every milestone is achievable; it's to point to where the world is going, chart the new programmable banking category Paywhere has created, and drive the team to succeed along our path.

Co-founder & Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer
Brett is a veteran executive with 25 years leading financial services and capital markets technology. As CTO of BIDS Trading, he built the API-first platform that grew the firm into the world's largest equities block-trading venue across five global markets. His expertise spans AI implementation, platform modernization, and regulated infrastructure. At Paywhere, Brett owns how the vision gets built and how Paywhere will reach its north star, given a technology landscape moving fast in every direction. He figures out which pieces to pick, in what form, and how to assemble them into a system that doesn't exist yet until he architects it. A technology inventor at heart, Brett has shaped the Paywhere product to be at the forefront of programmable banking and the age of AI.

Chief Revenue Officer
Nick is a proven fintech and payments leader with 20 years of experience driving sales, partnerships, and growth for banks and regulated markets. He's scaled payment portfolios past $5B and built national financial institution networks. At Deluxe, Nick led a 40-person embedded finance unit; at Autobooks, he delivered 10x revenue growth and expanded distribution from 20 to over 2,000 FIs. At Paywhere, Nick owns how we land with banks and credit unions: how do you make programmable banking sexy to an industry that buys infrastructure, not vision? He builds the ask, go-to-market strategy, and partnerships that makes FIs say "I want to talk to you,” so they can power the next generation of AI-enabled banking.

Co-founder & Chief Product Officer
Bindu is a seasoned product executive with 20 years leading fintech, payments, and enterprise technology. Most recently VP of Product at Paystand, she built and scaled API-driven payments and ERP-integrated products. Previously she drove global payments expansion at Boku, launched mobile payroll products at Xero, and created healthcare fintech platforms at Intuit. At Paywhere, Bindu takes the vision and the invention and turns them into something real: how the product actually works, how people use it, and what it means for them, inside the company and out to customers. She's the one who figures out how it takes shape in production and how it fits into Paywhere's existing technology landscape, the piece everything else depends on.
