Our story

Paywhere was conceived and built by a founding team with decades of collective experience at the intersection of financial markets, technology, communications, and regulatory complexity.

The team has deep expertise in high-performance distributed systems, capital markets infrastructure, fintech product leadership, and tech-focused marketing and communications. They have built platforms that process tens of billions in monthly volume, scaled API-driven payment products across global markets, and helped technology companies find their voice in competitive industries.

Paywhere saw programmable banking coming before it had a name.

In 2025, Paywhere identified something the market had not yet named.

AI agents and software programs were beginning to rapidly automate the financial workflows that corporate clients had always managed manually. This was going to be a sea change for banks and credit unions. The interface between them and their clients was being totally rewritten.

Paywhere recognized that financial institutions needed a platform that worked alongside existing systems, handled both fiat and stablecoin rails, and kept the bank in full control of its customer relationships and economics.

Nothing in the market did that. So they built it. And they gave it a name.

Programmable banking.

Founded on decades of operating at the intersection of:

Financial markets

Technology + AI

Regulatory complexity
